Yes, swimming with humpback whales is legal in French Polynesia during the designated season, from August to November. All interactions are conducted under strict regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of both participants and whales.
The package includes accommodation in a waterfront villa, guided whale-swimming excursion, professional underwater photography session, cultural and gastronomic experiences, and island exploration activities, food, drinks, one 40 min massage, reef safe sunscreen, shampoo and conditioner. Taxi/car from ferry to villa and back.
No, flights are not included. Participants are responsible for arranging their own air travel to and from Moorea. United airline has non-stop 8 hour 40 minutes flight from SFO to Tahiti (Papeete) for about $750 per person.
Participants should bring swimwear, and personal snorkeling equipment, fins.
Tipping is not traditionally expected in Polynesian culture but is appreciated for exceptional service.
In early October, Moorea experiences warm temperatures with occasional rainfall. It’s advisable to pack lightweight, breathable clothing and a light rain jacket.
Participants must be at least 12 years old to join the whale-swimming excursions. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
